He pretty much more memorable than some of the previous gen's gym leader at this point. I don't think there would be any dark type gym/elite four that would match his Dark pokemon team or his personality.

Honestly I'd vote him best NPC in Pokemon, period. In a world of sugar-everyone's-always-overly-happy-all-the-fucking-time he's a breath of fresh air. There's never been someone anywhere close to his personality before because he basically embodies everything a typical good guy in this series is not.
