I have just started playing Sun, but I haven't played Pokemon

BW is a requirment. Sure, it's probably on the lower spectrum of good pokemon games, but playing it before BW2 makes the latter more enjoyable.

Get Platinum, either Heart Gold or Soul Silver, get black or white, and get black 2 or white, 6th gen some find disappointing but I'd still play them if I were you. So X or Y and AS or OR.

Emerald, Platinum as they are improved in every way over the previous games

FRLG are just remakes of RBY and put on the nostalgia hard - can't evrn evolbr Golbat til after you get the national dex

HG or SS, it's seen as among the best Pokemon games despite being a remake, but the versions are pretty similar

Get one of both BW and BW2 - BW2 is a direct sequel so it works better

XY has no third version or sequel

OrAs is RS Remakes so up to you if you want a retelling there. I'd say go for it

Playing BW2 right after BW1 really shows how weak BW2 actually is. It's when I realized that BW1 is superior
