Gamefreak's gearing up for gen 8 and wants to keep the SOS system. You're somehow in charge of that shit. What are some SOS calls you'd work into a new game?

Well if it's in my realm of things I can do, I would change Totem Battles to SOS Horde battles, where the totem calls 4 mons as backup.
Other than that, Trainer SOS battles, where when the enemy team starts losing they just start sending out multiple Pokémon against you trying to out number you.
Any food based Pokemon can call a wild Snorlax.
Snover and Abomasnow calling ally Pineco
Mime Jr. calling ally Drifloon
Lickitung calling ally Slurpuff and Vanillite
Seedot calling predator Pachirisu
Trubbish and Garbodor calling bugs and rats and seagulls depending on the location
Fish calling predatory pelippers
psyduck calling the rare occassional duckling
flower pokemon like bellossom, lilligant, florges all calling butterfly pokemon
anything in certain waters calling predatory high level sharpedos
mantine with sos remoraid

The SoS system is changed so that pokemon call for help on a pre-determined basis (every 3 turns) unless an adrenaline ball is used (the pokemon will call for help immediately, or the turn after if they would've called for help this turn anyway).
As for new calls, it depends what pokemon show up, really. Less pokemon would be SoS exclusive, and those that are SoS exclusive would make sense to only show up in SoS battles and would be worth attempting to get (EG; before it was confirmed otherwise, I imagined high level Bewears would show up to save lower level pokemon when at low HP)
