Yeah, mythicals tend to be locked to Cherish Balls ever since Gen IV.
During Gen V, Japan got events for HA Gen 3 and 4 starters that you caught in Entralink, so any ball available then is fair game.
The only post Gen IV mythical I can think of that was distributed in something other than a Cherish Ball was Celebi during the launch of Pokemon Bank.

Technically yes, a Japanese game that participated in those events is required to start the chain up, but once they start trading their bred Pokemon it's fair game. Expect to see them fairly shortly after the Bank update.

I like Ledian and Toucannon in Level Balls. Toucannon in particular I haven't seen anyone else suggest with a Level Ball, it looks good.
I would put Vikavolt in a Beast Ball, though Quick Ball works well enough too, and I guess the shittier blue/yellow ball is a bit fitting for a kind of shitty pokemon. At first I thought you were avoiding using it, but you've got it here for Salamence and some others.

I would ease up on the Dusk Balls, in some cases I think a Moon Ball would be better. Your Great Ball picks are pretty much all baffling to me, too.

Why Braviary, Alakazam, Slowking, Golduck, and Lurantis in Dusk Balls? The others, even if I wouldn't pick it, I can see what you were doing, but I don't get those ones. Especially Lurantis who specifically evolves only during the day and is designed as a sunny day Pokemon.

Why Spinda, Hariyama, Pyukumuku, Goodra, and Garbodor in Great Balls? I don't recall the opening effect, maybe it has to do with that, but the ball colour doesn't match them at all, and it's not like the Great Ball has anything you can thematically connect it with.

I see you have Friend Ball for Bruxish, which I know is a common pick for its shiny, are any of the rest of these selected to match the shiny? Might be good to specify that if so.

To explain a couple things you mentioned:
I hate the great balls (I like blue, but don't like the little red bits protruding from the top), so I (mostly) put stuff I dislike into the great balls(though there have been one or two exceptions in the past(see:azumarril).
All the ones you mentioned I don't like, so that's why great balls for them.

Dusk Balls are my favorite ball because of their opening animation (dark purple is best color)- and were my go-to ball for my living dex in gen VI. I actually HAVE eased up a bit on the dusk balls from the past generation, but I see where you're coming from ;p
The purple effect fits 'kazam, slowking, and golduck (which isn't ACTUALLY a psychic type, but it should be, imo).
Braviary I literally have no idea- got a better ball idea for it?
Lurantis, I got nothing except I kinda like lurantis + like the dusk ball, but you're right, it is kinda weak. (forgotten the 'evolves-during-day' bit) Ideas there would be appreciated.

And yes on the shinies as well- that did come into account on some of them (shiny vikavolt, for instance) but I figured it would be too much of a hassle to change the sprites on the image.. need to figure out a way to mark that, too.

I would tend toward Great Ball for Braviary because it's red white and blue. Lure Ball is red white and blue, with a tiny bit of yellow on it, which technically matches Braviary's colour a little better, but the fishing association ruins that for me, so I stick with Great. If you just put Pokemon you don't like in Great Balls, you might not be down for that.

Not sure about Lurantis myself. Maybe Love Ball? It's a damn shame there's no Sun Ball.

What is the maximum number of Beast Balls you can beg Looker for? Is it infinite? I want to get enough of them that I could theoretically catch one Pokemon from every family in one. Including Island Scan Pokemon, but not including giftmon like Null and Porygon, or legendaries like the Tapu, That's around 160 Pokemon. Plus 10 for all the UB and their duplicates, so 170.

If you can get them infinitely, how many do you get given besides begging? So I know how many to ask him for.

Heavy Ball has those hexagonal particles that match its Prism theme, and has muted colours.

I however used mine on an Indigo Minior, so i'll have to make do with Luxury or Premier.

Luxury Ball is good cos its dark and its release effects are yellow sparkles which match its Light/Dark theme.

Premier Ball also works as an "opposites" theme.

I SRed Lunala till I caught it in a moonball, and its lv55 with a catch rate of 45. Yet when I use the same catching strategy for Nihilego, who also has a rate of 45, it seems to take at least 3x as long to stay in any ball than it took Lunala.

How do you guys feel about Repeat for Garchomp...yeah, I know, but hear me out. There's not really a blue ball that fits his color scheme, but the red and yellow on the repeat ball (mostly red with a little yellow) matches decently with the red and yellow on Garchomp. There's also a bit of black to go with his eyes.

The release animation is a yellow-orange, which can go with its Ground typing.
