I loved mine and still have it. I'd do G/S runs with later obtainable mons like houndour and larvitar or other mons you'd not have a chance to really use in game.

However, HGSS outclasses G/S now, my Gold copy doesn't work, and I'm not soldering or electrical taping a new battery in. So mine is gathering dust in the closet.

I had a gameshark. I didn't even know what it was for, I only asked for it because it said that it had codes or something for Pokémon gold and silver and had a very pleasant surprise when I discovered what I could do with it.
