I don't know why gamefreak doesn't just release one for every type. Their pokedex's get smaller every gen and just adding the other evolution can pad the dex. They wouldn't even have to come up with new ideas, just take fanart, give them 1 stab, then good to go.

Ledgit Siberian Chipmunk as a unusually strong pure electric mon, and a Dormouse as the boltbeam electric/ice mon.

The worst part is that Mimikyu was already a fantastic, creative idea that could easily fill the role of a Pikaclone while also completely subverting it and we still got the piece of shit Togedemaru.

i pretty much liked everything except for Dedenne and Togademaru, though i heard the latter is a good competitive mon, and while Pichu's design is lacking, it gives Pikachu and Raichu Nasty Plot.

Most Pikaclones represented a new feature that was added in their debut generation:
Pichu - Breeding
Plusle & Minun - Double Battles
Pachirisu - Amity Square
Dedenne - Fairy Type

The only ones that don't really have an excuse to exist are Emolga and Togedemaru.
