Nothing much. Both are pretty good on the own right in design and in play, especially Incineroar who's interesting character and design choices only get better when put into motion. Nothing to write home about like Memefrog or Speedchicken, just two decent mons , especially when Hidden Abilities for them at made legal. The only real mistake this gen was Nu-Male Owl. Not even it's entirely situational HA can save its slow frail ass.

Agreed fully on the legs, but the upper body is alright enough as long as it doesn't become super-ripped muscleman type body in fan art.

now that i've been exposed to it's design for a while my hate faded away to personal dislike, what irks most people is the fact that a quiet cat as described by the pokedex went through such a drastic change in personality and appearance. Maybe GF wanted a different evolution design, because they've already had enough of "gets bigger" designs like Purrloin -> Liepard, but I feel like this wasn't the way to do it.

there is nothing wrong with Primarina, the only people who hate it are insecure morons who hate feminine design in their mostly-male gender ratio mons. there are enough twinks and traps posted here that it shouldn't have ever been an issue but it still is.

Nothing went wrong, in fact I'd say these two have more personality than Rowlet's line.

I'm sorry, but it was obviously set up to BE the most popular starter this gen. I guess rowlet's design is cute, but so are the other first stage starters. Though you could argue that rowlet's design is even cuter because of the soft color pallet and rounded shapes. Personally I don't care for it and I think dartrix looks worse. I don't buy the whole "troubled teen phase" and fail fo see how that transitions into a calm and collected archer.

Speaking of the archer, it's just so uninteresting to me. It's so painfully obvious that it's SUPPOSED to be cool, similar to greninja. The other startes seem more geniuine in their design and personality.

It doesn't help at how obnoxious the fans for this thing are.
