I see you're in need of a legendary catcher.

Timer balls are better as of 5th gen and the only legendary in SM that the dusk ball work on are the cover legendaries and Necrozma, the rest are either beasts or in permanetly lit caves.

Does anybody else just use PokeBalls?

Not only do luxury balls look the best, they are also the only one with an effect that lasts after catching. Best balls.
Dusk balls also look really cool though.
