I don't see how this is really a problem, with no Battle Frontier in ORAS there was no sign of her anyway. This could just be what she's like in the Mega Evolution universe.

The timeline is still a little weird considering Red and Blue, but oh well.

The definition of Post-game in GS is obviously different.

Anabel appears in the story in SM, so the frontier is obviously canon in some capacity.

The PWT in BW2 is obviously non canon in some sense, since they didin't update the deisgns of any trainer that apperared there, many of which we know must've gotten older.

The same oncept applies here, it's just fan service for people who played the older games.

And I'm talking about wally and cynthia. Colress, Grimsley and Anabel appear completely outside and far away from the tree, and -What a Surprise! - they are the ones who got new designs. So only those three are canon. Red and Blue are too, but not cynthian and wally.
