I don't get the "literally who" comments. It feels like complaining for the sake of complaining. All the Elite 4 before that one had at least one (sometimes all of them) character we never met before, yet it never was a complaint.
When the game was leaked and everyone thought that the Elite 4 was all Kahunas, we had people complaining that Gamefreak was lazy because they didn't bother creating new characters for the Elite 4, now they rush their game because they actually did create one. What ?

I never got this, what I always liked about the Elite 4 in older games was the reveal and mystery of its trainers going in. Heck, early E4 members like Agatha, Will and Karen would be weaker the more time you spent with them.

The golf area isn't even fully rendered. They probably planned to make Kahili appear there before you meet her in the E4, but ran out of time and just left some mentions of her in the game and the demo instead. Akala and Ula'ula as a whole have several areas that feel unfinished.

All games have scrapped content. We never saw the golf area in the trailers and there is no evidence of it in the game files that I know of. If it was removed, it was probably removed pretty early in the making process (so it isn't an evidence of the game being rushed like you all want it to be)

I think they should just be mentioned throughout the game in passing or indirect references. Like someone mentioning about a super strong Ice-type trainer they met once, or someone calling you the second best X they've ever seen, little things like that.
