It's a case by case basis on weither the ball or the effect matches more.

Say for Dialga, the heavy ball is the best for it colour wise but it can't be legally caught in one so the blue ones are the only options colour wise but non are that great so people would say use the timer ball because clocks.

In remember seeing some debate in the last thread regarding the best balls for Passimian and Oranguru...

I think Nest is best for Passimian seeing as it matches the lighter green of Passimian, and the tan matches decently with the orange accents. It also has a very fitting animation -- with green and orange.

Oranguru works okay in a Heal Ball -- especially when shiny. The ball is actually slightly more purple than it is pink, and while you might think (for either of them, really) "PREMIER!" the blue and tan accents on the Heal Ball match the blue and orange accents on Oranguru's fur. Not a perfect match, but it's passable, and fits better than a white/red ball with a yellow animation.

Thoughts?

For example I caught a Pikachu in a fast ball in it and have it ready to move forward when the bank update hits as I didn't want to waste the one fast ball you get in SM.

Nest (especially considering Grimer), Lure (not an exact match but the blue part is sometimes a greenish hue, the red part is close enough to the pink, and it's one of the balls with the most varied colors), or Moon (again, a ball with distinct colors...the yellow and blue match okay with Muk, and the black is there for accent). Animation-wise, Lure fits the least, Nest is okay, but I think Moon wins out here.

i wanted a 5IV (thank got i didn't feel the need for a 6) jolly, female blaziken. i got it but it needed to get to max affection (5hearts) through me petting it, not by it eating a pokepuff. In my first attempt it got to max affection by eating a pokepuff so i had to re-breed, re-EV train and re-play with it and the 2nd attempt also got to max affection by eating a pokepuff so i had to restart again lather rise repeat i was on my 3rd and i DID get it to max affection by me petting it but i wasn't paying attention so i didn't think it genuinely loved me so i isolated myself from the game for a month and finally came to terms with it (or so i think i do)
