The same typing as Garchomp, with a noticeably lower BST. There are only two things it does better than Chomp:

>Levitates
>Higher SpA

So build a Special one with Draco Meteor and Earth Power, and give it an Earthquaking partner. It's still probably not an ideal situation, but if I really wanted to use a Flygon in VGC, it's what I'd do.

You're playing against american shitters then. Most standard japanese teams have it, along with Gyarados, Tapu Lele and Marowak.

Are people actually using Clefable over Clefairy with Eviolite and Friend Guard though? Sorry, didn't delve much into gen 7 competitive just yet.

I haven't worked on the sets yet but the first 3 Pokemon are definitely going to be Flygon, Smeargle and Gyarados. I just need to finish my Sun run first.

Now I see you probably suggested using Clefable/Clefairy over Smeargle as my Follow Me user. While her Dragon immunity is nice I prefer Smeargle because of Wide Guard. I might consider running a dual Follow Me team just because they each bring something different to the table though. I wonder if Unaware ignores stat boosts from an ally Pokemon, does anyone know? Would be helpful in tanking Flygon's Earthquakes if I'm ever forced into not using Protect that turn.
