So apparently, Alola's lore is based on Alchemy, specifically the more "astronomical" side.

The triangle in the picture is known as the Azoth triangle, with the face of an Alchemist in the center, and each of his appendages reaching for one of the classical elements: fire, water, earth, and air (the feather). Around the alchemist's face are the symbols for the seven classical planets: the sun, the moon, mercury, venus, mars, jupiter, and saturn, with each corresponding to its own mineral: gold, silver, mercury, copper, iron, tin, and lead, respectively.

It seems that to retain the Ultra Beast status, a UB has to remain bathed in the energy from the ultra wormholes. Over time that energy fades, and they become indistinguishable from a regular, native pokemon. That seems to be what's happened to the Solgaleo/Lunala line and Necrozma.

What we do know is that the Alolan monarchy was blessed by Solgaleo and Lunala, were the only ones who knew about Cosmog, and at some point lost their titles.

Current theory is that they summoned Guzzlord and the Cosmog they used died from the strain.

This probably wouldn't happen, as it would go against the establishment that all pokemon, including legendaries, aren't inherently evil.

But the fact that Necrozma is connected to physical perfection and has so much in common with Zygarde, we can definitely say that Game Freak is definitely hiding stuff for this guy's stage debut.

Also, to add, the final chamber of Resolution Cave -- the one in which Guzzlord is found-- is the exact same shape as Terminus Cave in Kalos. The two regions are definitely connected, but that's for another thread.

Maybe Necrozma could just be eldtrich in its behavior. Neither good nor evil but purposely harmful to others, like the Daedric Princes from the Elder Scrolls, because it lacks an understanding of the concepts.

It's design and descriptions does give thought to a hostile predatory relationship with Solgaleo/Lunala. Plus, there had to be an ulterior motive for the original Sol/Luna leaving behind a Cosmog for the Alolan kings and Tapus to watch over.

The latter idea is probably thinking wishful thinking though since the most believed theory is that Necrozma was once a Cosmog that had something horrible done to it.

Don't the game shown that ALL Ultra Beasts, included Guzzlord, have special aura/energy similar to Totem Pokemon as result of passed through the wormholes? It meant Guzzlord cannot have to be around in Alola for 10 years, as this aura/energy should have disappear by now.

We also have learn nothing about the Ultra Beast from 10 years ago so it probably is one that we have never see before.

I guess it used to be destructive Ultra Beast that almost destroy Alola and Guardian Deities. But then its 'parents' Lion and Bat came.

Defeated, weaken Necromza asleep away deep in the mountain for many or so years. By now, it had become less Ultra Beast-like to be more Pokemon-like for having trapped in Pokemon world for so long.

That's what it seemed like from the game and movies, but I don't really know.
