Some pokemon you need to s.o.s while under weather effects. Also, find a qr pokemon, breed it, and put them in the gts and you'll get most of what you want, try using togepi.

Even then it's painful, though. Lucario is supposed to have a 10% appearance rate but every time I've had to kill at least 50 Riolu.

With no place to reliably grind for exp my motivation to finish quickly has been diminished. That and I have a living dex sitting in Y. Currently at 90% so at least I only have to push through this last part
