this is why I restarted, I caught them all in premier like I usually do but something in me was like... "you know what, unique pokeballs would be cool" SO here I am. Also note that the Fast Ball is a bit of a "trick" for Koko, as its very very red and Koko has 0 red on it. The best is actually Level, and Repeat which is annoyingly red also has the best "lightning" look on send out. The best ball for Bulu would be sport ball, buuut it's not legal.

As for the characteristics, to manipulate them perfectly you would need dittos that have your highest IV match the specific IV that is needed for a certain characteristic. For legendaries you can only have a variety of at max 6 characteristics because 3 of the IVs are 31. That shoehorns it into either Takes plenty of siestas, Likes to thrash about, Capable of taking hits, Mischevous, Somewhat vain and Impetuous and silly.

I'm not sure if all of them are even available since I believe there's some kind of priority on which one shows. I thought it might be Hp > ATK >DEF > SPATK > SPDEF > SPEED, but my Solgaleo is alert to sounds. I guess it might choose what shows at random? Dunno. Anyway, the idea is to have some dittos with ONE stat at a certain IV and all the others lower, the higher the one certain IV is, the better. Even though Somewhat vain is associated with 31 IVs in SPDEF . so is 26, 21, 16, 11, 6 and 1. So if any of those are the highest IV, then you get a "somewhat vain" pokemon.

It's actually not that hard to breed once you have the destiny knot and dittos, as the destiny knot forces the egg to have 5 randomly selected IVs from the parents. So if you have a Ditto with a characteristic you want and breed with that destiny knot. Of course, it can also select them from the other parent but so long as you have one of these IVs as the highest in every particular stat: 31, 30, 29, 28, 27, (30 dittos for every characteristic) then it should be fairly simple. Just nickname the dittos so you don't forget. Anyway, GATHERING the dittos is the actual hard part. It would take months. However, you can ask someone to hack them for you.

Anyway, that being said - you can max out the IVs later with a gold bottle cap. Thus being aesthetically perfect AND battle perfect.

Why won't GF just give us a machine in game that allows us to change a Pokemons Pokeball? It seems so obvious.

I'm currently chaining for a shiny Bounsweet, and cant decide between a Luxury or Dusk Ball.

I want my teams to have matching balls and god damn it, since it's moon I really want either all Moon Balls or all Beast Balls.

Imo nest and premier work, you need to also keep the release animations in mind. Premier sparkles yellow, close enough to an earthy colour. Nest releases the leafy stuff, which is great for the wild look, not everything has to match the colour of the pokemon - just attributes strong enough.

Example: caught Bulu in a friend ball even though its green because it represents its type and has yellow and red colour patterns. Also, the release animation sparkles green which fits its ability well.

I put Ninetales in a love ball just simply because it's very, very feminine and has the pink fairy typing.

If I could do my lycanroc again, it would be in a nest ball.

Keep the release animation in mind, though fast ball IS the best in terms of ball for Koko, the release animation is like a regular pokeball with blue sparkles. In the end I went with the repeat ball because it spins yellow looking arrows and sparkles yellow on release. Its little inventory pic looks pretty orange too, if you don't care for release animations then fast ball is the best.

I know these threads are mostly about color schemes and such. But I have actually had a huge problem with only wanting to use pokeballs since gen 4. This gen was the hardest gen to only use pokeballs. The worst being Tapu koko and its 20 minutes of cutscenes between it and the closest save area.

I had a similar issue to you though, except I used only premier. Something about the Tapus changed that about me though, well I guess that and seeing NPCs using specific/various balls. I really only care about what I actually plan on using and anything that has a limit on how many you can catch in game.

I did Kommo-o in a Luxury Ball. The colors for pretty well, and the effect looks great when you send it out. I like Repeat on it too as the colors also match pretty well and the circle pattern looks nice with the scales.

For Serperior, I went Nest. I liked how the tan matches well with Snivy and Servine. Plus, I just like it more than Friend, anyway. The effect looks great for a leafy snake, too. Friend Ball matches color well (green ball, yellow accents, red to match the eyes), but between the color and effect, I put Nest Ball ahead of Friend.

Thanks for posting this, as these show the true colors, not what in the sprites and dream world art (which is often different, ie reds show as orange in sprites).

Bruxish in Heal Ball? It matches color (pinkish-purple, yellowish tan, blue) and the release animation is pink, too, which fits well.

Basically it's just trying to put Pokemon into certain balls, usually basing it on the pokemons appearance and trying to match it to a balls appearance and effect. It's gotten better this gen especially now since we can not transfer and Males now pass down the ball they are in if breeding with a ditto and there is only one of each of the apricot balls in the game, and the new Beats ball which is stupidly hard to get a regular Pokemon in.
