Why can't we just contact her on the computer like Kukui did at the beginning? Make it a daily or weekly event where you update her on your Pokedex/UB mission progress and she tells you about her starter, first battle, first catch, first boyfriend, first badge, etc.

I saw someone else speculating this but GameFreak created her as the perfect "Girl you meet on summer vacation". I think most of us had that one girl we met while we were on vacation, or maybe a neighbor or a childhood friend you grew up with that moved away. It's that young, puppy love kind of thing where you get really attached to somebody to the point that you can easily project everything you want to see on them, and then just as things get good, they're gone, and you probably won't ever see them again, and that makes you all the more attracted to her because you can't ever have her. I wish I had screen capped the post, it was actually pretty eloquent, more so than me.

I know, it's pretty disheartening because you can never go find her and show her how strong Nebby is, but I'm pretty sure she'll come back in some form or facet, whether it be a Sun and Moon 2 or Kanto remake or just Stars. One of the good things about SM is that they brought back a couple of characters who were as good as dead, and I'd love it if they keep doing that.

I hope the minor rewrites they do in Stars so that the player is able to get Solgaleo/Lunala makes it clearer that MC was meant to represent the Sun and Lillie was meant to represent the Moon. For shipping purposes.
