It's a series refresher by changing up the formula, this pleases a crowd who are sick of the game being the same

It's got some of the best designs for npcs and pokemon in a long time and this pleases the long time fans

No matter what the people here say, GO definitely was a driving force for these sales numbers. It made Pokemon 'cool' again for quite some time, which meant the nerds who felt shame before and avoided buying previous titles no longer had to worry about being judged, and many new fans got their first introduction to Pokemon.
