>yfw a pokemon struggles and breaks your SOS chain

.... thicker?
>>30352740
Literally happened to me.
>on a chain of 40+ on ditto
>finally decide to catch one fucker
>kill the one I passed a leppa berry and recycle on
>get it to 1 HP
>the fucker kept calling for help and broke out of the 2 balls I threw at it
>>30352740
>not killing the original caller as soon as help arrives
>>30352740
>not cycling your targets
SOS chains continue so long as it's the same family.
Ex: Trying to SOS chain a Corsola? You can kill the original corsola like...15 SOS call ins later, so long as it's while the call-in is another corsola.
If it called a mareanie in, and you killed the corsola, the chain is done.
>>30353002
That shit makes SOS chaining take forever.
>>30353064
I forgot my Absol had Pressure. ;-;
that's why you KO the original and use a new one after a a while you retard
use a pokemon with heal pulse and bring a bunch of leppa berries
>>30352740
Just start over since your chances don't really change on how many you kill.
>>30353145
Also I wanted to add that without a shiny charm I've gotten a SOS shiny in 20 to 30 encounters more then a few times while other times I would go over 100+ It's really just random.
>>30352740
This was me yesterday, was trying to find a sliggoo with a pelipper and it just wouldn't show up. How do people even chain exactly?? There isn't a guarantee that a pokemon will call for help in continuous turns and yes I'm aware of the adrenaline on but that shit literally adds almost nothing
Question. Does the chain affect the probability of the mon to have its hidden ability?
>>30353145
>>30353175
This. A chain really only matters if you're EV training or want to incrbe are the Pokémon IVs. It doesn't affect the chances of getting a shiny.
>>30353249
If you bring the wild pokemon down to red and use an Adrenaline Orb, it will call for help most of the time. I recommend using False Swipe.
>>30353279
Bump
it happened to me when trying to get Salamence but Bagon struggled to death :(
And I still didin't get that FUCKING SALAMENCE
>>30352740
I read Pressure was good for SOS chains because it acts like an Adamant Orb but lots of people here say it's a negative. Is it good or not?
When you feel like its time you kill the other one instead. Simple.
>>30352740
>Riolu used Final Gambit!
Is the shiny charm broken or something? I've spent about 6 combined hours on a single Magnemite SOS and still haven't found a shiny.
>>30352740
>be chaining stufful, well into 60+ chains, almost not paying attention
>my damage is piss poor because of baby-doll eyes
>both of them on red health, one uses bide, the other that aoe attack they have
>I attack, bide goes first kills the other one will I kill the remaining one
That was so dumb on my part, but doing this SOS shit over and over is so boring, I need to be doing something else or I can't handle it

>False Swiper is Decidueyes
Decidueyes has saved me from all sorts of bullshit filling the dex.
My tactic for chaining is to have Decidueye and Solagleo. I use an adrenaline orb in the beginning, and I wittle down and false swipe with Decidueye. Then to wait for it to call help, I swap to Solagleo and use cosmic power each turn until full special defense. I use an adrenaline orb every turn after, because it skips my turn and doesn't waste an orb. Every mon that comes that I don't want, I obliterate with Solgaleo. Because he has steel body, he can't be affected by stat lowering moves, so I don't lose damage. Repeat until I get what I need.
This is also my second Pokemon game and I probably have no idea what I'm doing but it works.
How is it hard to just switch targets every 10 turns or so? How are people this retarded?
>>30352740
If help doesnt appear, is my chain fugged?
>>30352740
that's the thicc man
>>30359922
it's different when your opponent can literally kill himself at a moments notice
be at full health or in the red
The majority of this thread is probably talking about ditto or bagon but trying to get a good riolu is the most nerve wracking part of chaining
