I used to have a tumblr when I was in High School.
I was an extreme SJW, cheering on about blacklivesmatter and all that bullshit, and I pretended I was kin with characters like N, Hugh, and Bianca.
I was extremely depressed and lonely, and I wanted friends, so I thought that was the best way to go about doing it. It'd make me look more interesting, and i'd have something in common with other pokemon-kin people.

Unfortunately, the people I met through that community are so fucking mentally ill, and selfish it's disgusting. There was one scenario I remember where they bullied an actual 13 year old transboy off the site, and hoped he committed suicide because he made a joke about the Iraq war when he was too young to even know anything about it.

TL;DR It was something I did because I was desperate for friendship, but the people I met were manipulators that cared about no one but themselves, and blamed everything on their mental illness.

Cringiest was a guy who I've nicknamed 'Chrischan-kin' because he is nearly as pathetic as the real thing. MOST of them are teenagers and kids who are just fucking retarded and have no IRL friends so they made up a weird cult to escape to. I don't begrudge the literal 12 year olds as much. But this guy is 27 years old, is a huge fat neckbeard who posts face pics all the time despite people asking him not to, claims he's trans despite putting no effort into looking or acting in an effeminite way, talks about age regression and near pedo-tier shit all the time, and says literally every joke is a type of bullying/silencing and gives everyone long 'discourse' about light heartesd humor. So Chrischan-kin came out as UltraBeast kin like, right away, after the first one was announced and already made up a huge backstory for UB-01, with weird details including how it draws in the souls of little girls and reincarnated them (like what he thinks he is, an amalgam oflittle girl souls).

He makes EVERYONE uncomfortable, not even the 13 year olds believe his shit, but being nice and keeping up apperances is more valuable than honesty to these people, so no one tells him he's a total freakshow.

I obviously don't hate Muslims just for being Muslims but I really disagree with many of the unethical views some of the more radical ones hold especially now that I'm questioning. Yeah the first time I went to the kin tags in like 2 years I kind of expected to find the same type of cringeworthy content to make fun of so I could feel good about myself as I did back then but this was actually a very pleasant surprise.

All those DIY tutorials for making one's own stress balls, coloring mandalas, etc. and shit are really helpful resources to have in all honesty and it's single-handedly the best thing to have come out of those Tumblr communities.

Those moodboards/aesthetic posts are very good coping mechanics in all honesty. I have an aesthetic blog I made when I was having some issues and it really did help me feel better with the way I could arrange photos and give them all different tags and whatnot.

Honestly on 4chan more often than not you can't have anything nice. It's full of funnymen that will spam nice/constructive threads with anime shit to derail them.
