It could be considered a buff if Gengar wasn't a Poison type and thus now weak to Ground. And with Dugtrio on the rise and numerous cores the meta is pretty unkind to Gengar as it is too.

I still don't get why they nerfed regular Gengar, which wasn't really a problem at all and buffed Mega Gengar, which is inherently broken, by changing the Speed mechanics on the Mega Evolution turn.

The Mega Evolution speed thing is the way it should have been to begin with now, the evolution literally happens before anybody does anything, why would all of its stat changes not happen at the same time?
