Generally agreed to be the best games, top 3 best games at the very worst. BW was a good series reboot and had an above average story that hasn't been outdone till SM. B2W2 boasts massive Pokemon variety to the point where it seems like no 2 people had the same team, it also featured a challenge mode, great online perks, and a metric fuckton of postgame content. Music was nothing to sneeze at either.

People who diss Gen 5 are generally shitters who likely only played BW then complained about not being able to use their genwun favorites, or are just normies who try to use "garbage/ice cream" to discredit all the stellar designs from these games, in both a Pokemon and gameplay sense.

tl;dr, if you somehow have not played through Gen 5, you're a fool.

I personally think Platinum has the best story.

And that the more laid back, lower stakes storytelling oh HGSS is very underrated as it was about many little things over one huge thing

I liked BW's story over BW2's. However, BW2 had a lot of postgame content and made the meta a lot more interesting

BW: Solid gameplay, decent difficulty, bold move using all-new pokemon.
B2W2: Best in fucking franchise.

BW had a much more climatic final battle than SM. Even if the lead up was kind of ass.

B/W was probably one of my most favorite Pokemon games to play, just behind HG/SS. I was bored to death with the sequels and it felt like a chore to get through. Feel free to tear me apart /vp/.
