You shouldn't transfer from gen 6 yet because it makes things illegal but this will be fixed when bank is updated in january.
Only thing I can think of that you'll need legit bank for is transferring shit to the switch version, in which case you can just buy a used 2ds for pocket money and use it to transfer.
