Mantine always had Skarmory's stat spread but special sided and on top of that it had Water Absorb. The main reason why it was never used was because it didn't have recovery, however now it gained Roost AND got 20 more base HP.
Pelipper now has Drizzle giving it strong, accurate STAB Scalds and Hurricanes, it also has roost and U-Turn making it a decent pivot. On top of all that Alolan Marowak is the ultimate counter to all things electric making him a good partner.

It actually cheks much more stuff in general, even Pheromosa, Volcarona and a bunch of other mons with Lighting Rod. Doesn't even need Thick Bone.
