How does /pgg/ train gyms? I went out tonight to prestige up some local gyms with lower CP Pokemon but just ended up wasting items
Like sure, it saved a little bit of time but not that much, I was just as well blasting through it with my Vaporeon, saved healing items and because the battles went so quick, I wasn't really wasting much time despite gaining little prestige each battle
I mean yeah, it did go a bit faster with the shitmons, but the battles were much longer and I was using a lot more healing items

terrible grammar and I totally missed the "how" part and only talked about "when" I train gyms
anyway I only train them if I think it's worth it and/or the bottom mons have good CP to train against
if the bottom pokemon are weak the gym is going to fall soon anyways so it's not worth my time
if the bottom mons' CP is too random, like 300, 800, 1500, 2000 it's too awkward to train against and I need to run after the first 2 battles which is going to be annoying and time consuming
sometimes I use my mass evo pidgeys and rats but that requires a lot of scrolling and ain't nobody got time for that, esp in the winter

I like to train against ~2k bottom mons, I use my 1k Bite/HB Raticate, 800 Jolt, ~1k golduck, starmie, parasect, pidgeot, tangela, ninetales etc

also I like to save Bite/HB raticates after mass evos and transfer them after they faint

I have a really irritating bug, and I hope someone can help me fix it.

Lure Modules do not find pokemon. I can see them, I can place them, no problem there. My time is set to automatic, so that's not the problem. But nothing at all shows up inside lures. I only started playing again since the Halloween event, and it hasn't worked since then. I'm playing on Android, a Galaxy S5. Any help?

imho, anything with 85%+ IVs that has a max CP over 2500

Honestly unless the first evo is pretty rare, don't bother powering up anything, just find a high level first evo in the wild, check it's IV's aren't horrendous, then evolve that
If the moves are good, power it up if you feel the need to, but some mons (like Rhydon) barely even need powered up if you found a high level of it's unevolved form
Dragonite and Gyrados I powered up, because Dragonite's family is rare as fuck and Gyrados I found a really high IV magikarp that wasn't quite top level

I have an Eevee nest near me and I just search for high level Eevees and evolve them, 2000+ CP guaranteed with no need to power them up

I have this problem, most of the times I try to train/attack a gym it gives an error message and often I get the error message after defeating a single mon. It is not uncommon for me to have to stay over 1 hour to power up a gym even if I get 500 prestige per mon defeated. In some cases it is so bad that I have to give up with only 2k prestige to level up or giving up on taking an enemy gym even if I could defeat all mons in one go if the game allowed me.

I need some advice /pgg/ in honor of "Rare Grimer" edition.
I've hatched one Grimer in my time, CP690 10/14/11 are the IVs, I only just caught my first wild Grimer today and it's shit. I've played since release and have only got these two now I want a decent Muk but don't know how long it will be before I find/hatch a better Grimer....what would you do? I have 53 candies for him now because alldatwalking.

I also want to do new evos while this event is going on with a lucky egg for max xp...halp.

I have one with a "wonder" rating, I walked it until I had enough candies to evolve it but then I realised it's only Lv10
right now I'm waiting to find/hatch another one because I want a) a living dex and I'm going to need another grimer anyway b) a decent Lv Muk since I don't want to have to walk it forever, I have other shit to walk like Machop and the starters
