You can buy 10 holo cards for abour 100yen + tax (about 1$ I figure) in most BOOK OFF shops in Japan. So no, not worth it.

Most of those cards would have been between 5 and 10$ each if you ordered them as singles off Troll and Toad or whatever. Although if you want to fuck around with Japanese auction sites then you can get them pretty cheap. For whatever reason Jap Pokemon/Yugioh/Digimon cards are always way cheaper.

That's because their rarity distribution isn't as fucked up as in America or Europe. Compare card lists of the same set for america and japan and you'll be suprised. Passing off a common card from Japan as rare in America is more common than you'd expect. Wizards of the Coast or whoever prints them in the west, fucks over fans big time.
