Last gen, in omega ruby, I wonder traded upwards of thirty boxes of centipedes when I was doing a shiny hunt.

I never found my shiny centipede but I have like six or seven hundred bp, maybe more, and some insane amount of pokemiles

Just WT'd all worthwhile mons I caught so they don't die on restart. All but two went to Japs for lvl 1 Abras, so I'm worried they'll rot in boxes instead of making some kid's day.

Especially this guy. He hung on 4 fucking times when fighting the chsmpion not to make me sad, and I gave it a masterball as a parting gift. He deserves to be used.

I pretty much just catch stuff that evolves when it trades. Gravelers and Haunters mostly. Feels good sometimes.

I tend to use Wonder Trade for breedjects, and while trash mons are common to get back; I love the sort feeling when you manage to wonder trade something nice and get something equally good as well

I was wonder trading Rowletts back on day 1 and got a hatched Modest Popplio named Cid. I love nicknamed mons, so I happily threw him on my team and plan to eventually use him in competitive for fun.

Since then, I been taking the time to nickname breedjects with good natures and passable IVs before Wondertrading them. I probably was gonna dump this seal in my box if he had not been named, but it did get me thinking about nicknames more.

I enjoy it because I have a gambling problem and I can fill my Pokedex (somewhat) by just spinning in a circle breeding Gibles.

I've gotten several Japanese dragon-types with Adamant or Jolly natures, so breeding shinys is gonna be easy already. Plus I like the novelty of collecting languages.

I'm currently breeding out a shitload of the things I got from GTS and plan on wondertrading several of them, then making a box of each starter and wondertrading all three of those.
Wondertrade is wonderful. Either you're getting something interesting from people making an effort, or you're making some new player's day.
A shame I wasn't able to get a female starter this time - in Y I got a female Fennekin and bred a box as soon as possible. Entire box went to wondertrade, got all kinds of weird things and Rt1trash...and even something from someone I knew.

I feel like the whole point of wonder trade is to trade knowing full well you will be expecting to get either something terribly shitty, or something terribly amazing. Like a sort of white santa situation where you could get something amazing or something shit, but it isn't necessarily dependent on what you put into it.

It of course means you have the otential to not get a great return from investing in the system, but you also of course have the potential to get a lot in return. While that doesn't completely excuse the behaviour, how in the world could you expect anything else without heavily moderating who puts what pokemon into it, or how pokemon gets exchanged.

They should add a rarity system. Your pokemon gets a score based on how rare it is, what level it is, if it has a hidden ability, if it's legendary, etc. When you send it, you can only receive pokemon in the same rarity range.

Let's do a little math here.

So to determine rarity, we'll need a scale. A good scale would be catch rate. Base rarity is equal to 256 - the catch rate, but it has modifiers based on what ball it's in (Sorry, balltists)

normal ball = x1
great ball = x0.5

I catch and breed the fuck outta Phantumps and name them Youngster and Preschooler.
Sometimes I just give them NPC names and that's it. I forget they trade eolve into Treavants and it kinda ruins the whole "Enjoy your dead child" pokemon thing but it's still fun.

I just love imagining that I might be making some kid or kid-at-heart's day when I wonder trade off a good pokemon. My wife just started playing Pokemon again for the first time since HGSS, and the look of pure joy on her face when she got her first good pokemon through Wonder Trade was super inspirational. Made me really want to get back into sending The Good Shit and doing my part to not send Shitmons back into the system

Basically, it's a good way to collect shitmons with different IDs for lotto purposes, as well as the occasional breeding reject or hacked event shiny. It's gambling style fun but if you go into it planning on getting something good you'll be extremely disappointed

Some natures don't alter stats at all, which is never favorable, and a lot of them decrease defense, which is similarly a bad idea.

Most of the preferred natures either increase an attacking stat at the cost of the other attacking stat, increase a defense stat at the cost of an attacking stat, or increase speed at the cost of an attacking stat.
