I didn't even realize it existed for the entirety of gen IV. I only remember it now because of it being on Unova Route 17/18 and always initially think it's a gen V Pokemon. I also always forget it evolves.

I don't really find any of the Johto Pokemon forgettable, mostly because they all had memorable moments in the anime. Even Stantler had that episode where Brock helped out that baby one.
