Why did they wait so long to dub some of those episodes anyway? Did 4Kids reach from the bottom of the barrel when they weren't allowed to dub any episodes beyond season 8?

And when remakes would've been released, we could've had special arcs just like what the Pokemon manga gets. It makes me sad thinking just how much better the anime could've been handled. I'd probably still watch it.

I take it there are different people in charge of the anime as compared to the games. The games get new characters every time but the anime seems like it is run by people who don't want change

It's just sad that we can't ditch Ash entirely now after so many years of having him as a character. After having him for so long, removing him would just cause massive backlash. and I doubt they can do two running animes either due to budget restraints.
