When EV training with SOS battles, does the initial pokemon also yield double EVs or only the standard? In other words, if I can expect four EVs from an SOS pokemon, do I only get two from the first one in the chain?

I have been standing out in rain in Malie garden fighting a fucking poliwag to try to get it to SOS a Poliwarth or a Castform. Nothing. Only more poliwag and the occasional poliwhirl. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm only ranked 1300 on genVII OU, but I find z-conversion porygon z as an excellent counter.

Fyi:

Z-conversion will change your typing to your first move, (make it thunderbolt), and gives u +1 to all stats

Switch into a ghost move, use Z-conversion and u get +1 to everything and electric type so he can't kill u, then u shadowball to kill.

Depends entirely on how you play.
I skipped battles with trainers every chance I took and went only where rotom told me to.
With exp share on, I was still underleveled and had some trouble.

If you look for items, catch all the pokemon in the area, purposely fight everyone, etc... you won't get a challenge at all with exp share on.

i can confirm this. i started out with it on and trying to catch everything and i chained a pokemon for an HA that i wanted and battled every trainer and the first half of the game was way too easy, so i bred a new team and started over halfway through island 2 and started ducking trainers and using repels a lot and it got way more fun/challenging.

Soooo EXP share on, I only have 4 pokemon that are at or above level 50 and I'm at the elite 4 and I just entered it and started without thinking. So I guess I'll just... try really hard? One of them is Goodra too which is completely shit and for some reason I thought it would be fun to do hydration, rain dance, thunder, and dragon breath. Idk why. It completely sucks. I regret not raising a sap sipper one instead lol. I have a 45 gabite too that came in clutch to kill hala's bewear. So thats okay because its fast, but my other not 50 mon is a level 40 metang which is not very good.
But despite feeling over leveled in the beginning I feel under leveled now at the end so thats kind of interesting.
