I've caught 7(?) shinies. I lost my Scolipede, Tentacool, and Joltik when my Pokemon X had a save issue and got messed up. I caught a Wingull and Mareep, nothing wrong with them. While I was looking for a sticky hold Gulpin, I found a shiny liquid ooze Gulpin, and finally in Sun I caught yet another shiny Wingull. My shiny luck really is great, and awful all at the same time.

Caught 3 shiny Zubats and 1 shiny Whismur before I happened to hatch a shiny Larvitar and a shiny Snover. In the end though it worked out pretty well.

First shiny I found was ditto in emerald. Having a shiny ditto transform into shiny versions of other pokemon was so cool, then GF ruined it and shiny ditto didn't transform into shiny pokemon afterwards :(

My first shiny was in Alpha Sapphire. I've been playing since Gen 1. It was a shiny timid Swablu. AbsoluteGarbage that I never used and threw on my Y save when I reset my alpha file. OT is Inferno Cop.

I had a shiny graveler explode on me.
I caught a shiny magikarp in gen 3, which subsequently stopped meaning shit when HG/SS came out.
And I have a shiny basculin. Yes, that ugly little fish you had to google just now.

My first shiny was a wingull in pearl.

He is still with me as a wingull to this day in my Y version Storage game.

Fun fact, you can stall a turn by using an awakening or item on a mon. If it's a non-legal usage, it eats the turn and not the item.
