for some reason I got 1662 from each battle instead of 1712 that I calculated. its exactly 50 less, not really sure why.
this is the most effort I've made for a gym and still for so little gain

in other news, I hatched my first chansey which is the last pokemon I needed to finish my dex

and after he casts twister you have nearly 5 seconds you can thundershock freely for
combine that with it not even doing a lot of damage if you get hit by it too

anyway even if you dodge all hydros, and only dodge about half the twisters (realistically you would dodge more) then hydro pump is still about as good
I would never consider twister to be better
maybe slightly annoying, but never actually better than his other moves

Farmed about 60k Star Dust today, spun some stops, still 300 balls away from filling my backpack.

Also finally got off my ass to update my IV calculator since it seems the new base stat formulas have been found. Have like 20+ egg hatched Pokemon to check IVs for and it's driving me nuts.

And also started importing Gen VII mainline game data to see how they'll look in PoGo in the far, far future where that may or may not happen. Wikis and websites don't like it when autists like me scrape their websites with bots and scripts so it's going to take a while since I have to space out my requests to avoid getting IP banned. Also trying to get my IV calculator feature-complete before Gen II rolls around on the 7th. Even if the Starbucks memo was a lie, still doesn't hurt to have shit done quickly.

but if you go by this sim which factors everything as far as I'm aware (including energy gain from damage taken) then twister still underperforms compared to dragon pulse and hydro pump
after the first few bites it alternates between twister and bite

I have 3 local gyms I like to have on lockdown but can't really get any in a nearby area because of a rampant Mystic spoofer
Got out of uni at 11 yesterday and decided to make the best of my time, walked to a quiet place in the city I've never even been to before and took over 15 gyms

Although, my nearby area has been entirely yellow lately but I haven't added Pokemon because I know the spoofer will take it back, but he hasn't
Does anyone know if when you get banned, it removes all your Pokemon from every gym? This spoofer hasn't been around in a few days (he usually plays every night) and all the usual blue gyms have turned yellow because he hasn't been playing, but I can still see his Dragonite in an uncontested private property gym

I reported him first with hard evidence and he disappeared, so I thought I'd got him banned, but another spoofer with a similar name appeared. Funnily enough one day when I was taking down a gym, the 'new' spoofer's name glitched and changed to that guy I had reported a week before, so it must have been the same guy with a namechange.
The fact he changed his name must have meant he got a warning from Niantic, but they didn't outright ban him, the fucking bellends.

I always thought Jolteon was crap in pogo, but since it got buffed, I evolved the two perfect Eevee's I was saving for the next two evolutions in may(?), naming them sparky, and got two more vaporeon, one with ideak attack moves and one with ideal defense moves... yet it feels so weird to not be happy about it... I guess that if trade was finally enabled, I could probably get a good jolteon from someone with them but since it is not, hey're just sort of sitting there... any news about trading?

no matter what i do, i just cant get more than 20 gyms anymore. drove around for hours today in the countryside to remote level 8,7 or 9 gyms and took 5 new gyms. then when i got home i lost 3 gyms already and i'm down to 16 again...

From a few patches ago, my pokemon make no sound

When I tap one and their stat windows pop up, you can tap it and it will make a roar-like animation and sound, right? Mine just make the animation, but no sound

Same when i encounter one in the wild. No sound when the capture screen comes up

The music is dead too, except the music from when i successfully catch a pokemon

The gym pokemon, too, are quiet. The attacks still make sound, though.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
I tried waiting for a new patch.

Anyone has any ideas on this?

It was working fine until a little while ago. To be more specific, I was in an evolution spree and got tired of the glow and the white screen when evolving pokemon, so I tried turning the phone upside down during evolution to try and trigger the battery saving mode... not really interested in saving battery, just didnt want the white glowing screen and annoying sound at the time.

Then turned it upside again and since then the pokemon never spoke again. Everything else works fine, except the pokemon cry and the music. The music from catching a pokemon works fine, though

Niantic didn't nerf/buff anything to "prepare them for incoming evolutions".

If you look at the actual base stat formula change, it has nothing to do with whether or not they have evolutions, they just made it so that Special or Physical specialists are less shit and made speed have a more significant impact than a +sqrt(SPEED) to the base stats.

What IVs are good enough to evolve a pokemon if i plan to power it up ? I got about 150 Dratini Candy now but my best Dratini is LV23 71%IV 15/10/7

Damn, I knew Gen VII might change base stats for some Pokemon in the name of "balance" but I didn't expect it to change anything from Gen I.

I'm guessing Niantic is still using the Gen VI base stat tables so I guess I'll need two different instances, one for each version, until Niantic switches over to Gen VII base stats.

it took me like 20+ tries to get one with Frost Breath/Ice Punch and even then she's only in the 50-67% range
it really sucks that she sucks, I actually like using Jynx in the main games
it also sucks that she can't have ZenH/Psychic
As for Cloyster, I was lucky that the Jynx nest at uni changed to a mixed water nest (mostly Shellder and Horsea although I catch a Squirtle/Omanite every 2-3 days)(no there isn't a river nearby)
it took me 7 times to get a Blizzard Cloyster
at this point even if they did an increased-ice-type-spawn-rate-event for Christmas I probably wouldn't notice/care

Good luck with that my man, the only one I have appeared in the middle of the city and I was able to get it because my friend was scanning the area. Friend who a couple of days ago hatched one, really lucky call.

If Niantic ever makes quests a thing (real quests not daily login bonus) it would be neat that after completing the quest you have a chance of encounter one of the rare mons such as Chansey, Tangela, Licky, Dratini... The game could easily recognise what's missing in your dex and try to reward you for that. Because players like us don't have a lot of reasons to go outside and catch shit knowing that most of it is just RNG.

There are no gyms above level 3 anymore because I'm going out of my way to keep your gyms down. But you should already know the problem is
(a) It's a double-edged sword so my gyms go down just as fast, and
(b) There are more of you bums than the other two teams combined.

I can take down 20 million gyms in a day but it still wouldn't change the fact that Mystic has no shortage of gyms to sit in because nobody else has the numbers or time to deal with you bums and there will always be an army of spoofers waiting to take back the gym at 4am in the middle of fucking nowhere when I leave for the night.

Ever since the gym update the only gyms that stay up are ones that have multiple snorlax/lapras and are annoying to fight.
Every other gym loses 2-4k prestige per sweep and take a quarter of the time to demolish compared to prestiging.
There's not enough time for people to prestige a gym up and get anything higher than level 5 because of how easy it is to take gyms down. They should make prestige training a bit easier so I don't have to waste 20 fucking minutes to get a spot in a lvl 4 gym.

Boy, I'm stumped. All those opinions and anecdotal evidence really put me in my place...I have the exact same problem of being severely outnumbered and I'm the big bad mysticuck. Every "I don't have gyms, hurr mystic's gay" post I see makes me happier and happier that I invested time in gyms when I did. I reinforced two lvl 9's, and karped another 12 consistently from 0-10 until the other teams stopped bothering. Roughly 20 hours of sitting in the car overall got me enough stable 10's to collect 10 every night for 2 months. Again, I did this solo. I'd leave my mom in, wake up, see 9 other mystic shitmons in my gym I'd worked so hard for, but eventually enough people chipping at the bottom brought most of them to over 2k entry.
