If he's the Dragon-Type Captain then he's old as fuck, that trial was the first one in Alola meaning that Ryuki would have to be older than any individual who tried/completed the Island Trials or is a Trial Captain/Kahuna.

It's explicitly stated that there are only seven captains in the game. Mina is the final one you meet, and she does jackshit, so the game makes you go through the trial in Poni Canyon, which is also stated to be ancient and doesn't have a captain associated with it.

Ryuki is just a (washed-up?) musician who comes to claim the Champion title to try and get his inspiration/fame back. That's it.

He is a joke character. Usually other type become gym leaders and at most E4 while dragon type user has prestige of being champion, final E4 or super important special snowflake character (Zinnia). In this game however every type master has diffirence, fleshed out role other than gym leader/trial captains (steel type master is a PC storage guy while bug,poison and psychic masters are storyline villains). Dragon type master however got btfo and end up as a joke character. Ice type got forgotten for some reason though.

Nope Faba is a psychic master. Dexio use multiple type even if his main is alakazam. Also Sina use Gengar I think.(play Moon)
