I kept Grimer around because its resistances synergized well with my team, but really, it was just a switch pivot for Set mode. Even with Eviolite it disappointed me at every turn and I was always on the look-out for a good replacement.

I actually just expected it to be as good as it turned out to be, but Drapion's one of my old favourites so I had a really good idea of how incredibly useful its typing is. With Muk's stats (which went unchanged for Alola) and the Poison Touch ability I just knew it was going to be this stupidly useful pivot that can dual-role as a hard hitting tank and an emergency status staller.

Fun Fact: Infestation is a contact move and if Poison Touch triggers they will lose a quarter of their health every turn while you just sit behind Protects. Costs 2 moves, while the other 2 can be actual hard-hitting physical moves.

I was so dissappointed by Ribombee. Every time I needed it to one shot something, it would leave it with about 10-20% HP left and get one shot in return. It got so bad I gave it the Fairium Z as soon as I got it so it could be able to KO something. Even like that, it kept on disapointing throug to the end of the game. I didn't even bother using it against Kommo-o because everyone else could handle it better.

Didn't expect much from it, turned out to be absolutely amazing in a lot of situations.

>easy to set up and sweep 2 or 3 pokemon before going down as long as you don't switch it into anything with a fire/fighting attack.
>steel stab is surprisingly good with the amount of strong fairies and rock types in alola
>iron head flinches
>pretty varied movepool with tms, lots of strong physical moves

Only issue I have with it is that it can be a bit hit or miss since it goes down so fast if you let its weaknesses get exploited, but otherwise it's very solid. I can't count how many times Swords Dance boosted Iron Heads and Icicle Crashes saved me.

You can get one through Poké Pelago with some luck. Alternatively, farm it in Battle Royals if you consider those as "friendly" battles? I don't think Nuzlocke has rules for battle towers, since this is the first game we can enter one before post-game.

Nothing about that selection sucks. Technician with Snarl/Hidden Power (Any)/Swift/Nasty Plot or Fur Coat/Rattled with Power Gem/Dark Pulse/Thunderbolt/Nasty Plot. Both make for a very mean kitty.

Lurantis really needs to be ran tanky to do what it wants to. I run mine with Contrary, Power Herb, Solar Blade/Aerial Ace/Ingrain/Synthesis. If either pass something to her or better, use her in doubles and "debuff" her, she can do some absurd damage with no investment in attack.

Oh, there's also the sun option, where Lurantis is immune to status effects thanks to Leaf Guard and can just spam Solar Blade after a Swords Dance.

Definitely aloloan muk. Never liked its design but that buddy tanked every hit and had a fantastic ability to boot.

even if it was in XY, you forgot vivillion. Fast speed and high SPA and with compound eyes you have never miss sleep/stun/poison powder moves.

I did not expect Mudsdale to be so good but he was good for both destroying enemies and taking a hit so that the other pokemon on the team could get heals.
