I've been chaining grubbin for 2 hours.

Honestly I would just start over. Yesterday I was chaining sandygast for over four hours.
I tried again today and got in in 20 chains.

Damn I wanted a shiny sandygast so bad. Almost scored one on the GTS but it took me forever to even try to get a weavile and someone got to it first. I'm still not even done with the main game I just want a shiny vikavolt for my team

it doesnt. Each pokemon has a fixed shiny rate of 1/512. It's kinda like the friend safari. Chaining only increases IVs or gets you HA.

is there a decent guide to shiny chaining anywhere? all I can find are videos, and I prefer image/text guides.
