Kukui is a lot smarter and stronger than he looks. He has time to research moves, organize a league, contact trainers across the globe to organize a facility, roast Guzman public, show you a bunch of new shit and provide you transport across the trial islands, all the while being a popular Battle Royale figure and anineR) cmon training Pokemon to a high enough level to give you a good final battle in the Pokemon league Kukui is da man.

Can we just go ahead and say that the VAST majority of all the trials in the game were amazing? Yeah it started out small, but by the time you got to the second island they got really creative with both the setups and the totem fights.

Summoning castform in the grass one, or SOS pokemon with heal pulse and helping hand respectively? The way the water one tries to pretend she's just obsessed with hot swimmer guys and is somehow able to teleport or swim across the lake while you're taking out a pokemon in one shot? Actually having moves to deal with types the pokemon are weak against so they have a chance to fight back? Just... this game was fantastic.
