I enjoyed TR and stuff but the artstyle makes it look low quality and it looks weird as fuck when 5 fucking people are 10m behind Ash just commenting everything he does. And everything was so generic which I hoped SM wouldn't be with the art style changes. The overreaction to everything isn't very good imo either. Will give it a shot though and keep watching.

People were genuinely excited about where thing were going, Serena getting to meet Ash, the upcoming gym battle we had seen so much nice footage from, Froakie... there's none of that stuff here. The episodes are fine, the girls are cute/hot and there are fun scenes here and there, but there's an extreme lack of hype, and that's a bit of an issue.

So far i'am liking SM a lot more than XY but i just realized something. The reason why i've been dropping a lot of Anime this year is because i need to watch Cartoons with high stakes every now and then. Sadly Pokemon is Pokemon and it will never have that because it's a Kodomo Series. What i'm trying to say is that this is it for me /padt/. XY and SM are two completely different series.

It has its own uniqueness just like XY had, and right now its still to early to tell what that uniqueness is besides the artstyle/more comedic tone.

We had battle crazy Ash in XY, in SM we see he still has his skills but we really don't know much more then that and what is to come.

XY hit its stride at about episode 25, until we get to that point in SM I'm holding my judgement until then.

Right now I like SM, not to XY's degree but were only 4 episodes in at this point.

The early eps of XY were much better so far. I like Kiawe and the girls seem fine so far, but everything else was better in XY.

The SM art style and complete lack of shading has completely fucked this series up for me. Seriously, both Ash AND TR look terrible. That's the fucking main characters right there.
