I caught the first two UBs in regular balls. The hard part is whittling them down enough, so I'm stuck on the third until my Parasect levels up.
Ended up using my Masterball on a Ditto because I was feeling lazy.

It only applied to Legendaries, but if they weren't statused or low on health the ball would just outright miss, not even doing a shake calculation.

Didn't mean it would always fail, just that probability was not on your side
Really it's just a lot more discouraging to hear that the Pokemon slapped away your plastic toy that to hear that you nearly caught it
