Yeah but pokemon only beans because trainers aren't going to catch pokemon to feed their pokemon. In aether foundation it says corsola are overhunted by them, they would rather just eat other pokemon.

Corsola don't actually die from Mareanie. An NPC spells this out; Mareanie feed on Corsola's branches, however they still feel the pain from this and this causes them to fear Mareanie.

I don't know if this is better though.

In toxapex's pokedex description it claims it leaves a trail of corsola bits. As to whether that means the coral on their head or literal pieces of the pokemon is hard to tell.

it could be possible that the fact that corsola lose their branches could cause problems for them, shit like making them less likely to breed, or suffering injuries during the struggle that shorten their lifespan, but not directly from the being eaten.
Although I'm pretty sure its cos they are being eaten, dex entry just doesn't go into detail.

Anyone have a reject Mareanie with Regenerator for me? Caught a million of these little qts but none of them had their Hidden Ability. Don't have anything to offer in return other than my deepest gratitude from saving me from this hell.

If you use an adrenaline orb after already using one it wastes the turn but doesn't actually use up another orb. So spam that and wait. Make sur you don't put any status on Corsola or it won't call.

Also, only bother in MeleMele sea in a rippling fishing spot. The rates aren't worthbothering elsewhere.

I find it very interesting that they made another starfish Pokemon. It just goes to show that Gamefreak hasn't stopped making new Pokemon based on things that are extremely similar to older Pokemon (although they've already done this before).

Like, we already have our starfish Pokemon, but now we have our crown-of-thorns starfish Pokemon. Both are starfish, but one is specific enough to be good for a new Pokemon line entirely. I like Pokemon that are like that.

Also, crown-of-thorns starfish are complete jerks. They're a big reason as to why certain coral reefs get destroyed.
