I've got an i5 2400 @ 3.8GHz and a GTX 970.

The game is absolutely CPU limited because rendering 4K or 480p makes no difference in performance.

I'm hoping there might be a newer build better at running the game.

Citra doesn't remove them. You have to purposely disable them either by modifying the ROM or using a cheat code.

I disable them because I render at 4K and the outlines are still rendered at 320p, meaning you get weird square blocks kind of outlining your characters. The outlines are generally just kinda buggy in Citra and at high res they're not needed.

It's just me probably but those models without outlines remind me of early access indie games. I prefer how they look in the actual games.

I've actually got a couple cutscene screenshots with the outlines. you can see how they're a bit buggy, but they're WAY buggier when actually in game.

What's your average framerate? I run a slightly worse CPU (i5 2500S @ 2.7 GHz) and the game runs at 25 fps at best before progressively dropping to 10 over time.

In buildings I'm typically locked 60, but outside in big town areas I'm in the 30's and in some battlest it dips to 30 as well.

It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't also slow down along with the framerate dip.

Yep. Citra doesn't support texture modding yet and I didn't do any manual replacements in the ROM. The games have a clean art style and can look really great, especially with the nearest neighbor filtering on textures keeping the blocky aesthetic. Some stuff is very decidedly low res looking. I'll try and get an example.

Can you share your PC specs? Cause i have a GTX 1070 and a i5-6600 and i can't get that kind of performance

Everyone is wondering because is slow, the answer is: CITRA USE ONLY 1 FUCKING CORE
And at the moment there is no way to use multiple core
