I never evolve anything with Pickup if it's going to lose its ability. So for my Sun run I will be keeping my Alolan Meowth for pickup.

And it doesn't look like my Pichu will ever evolve... It's had 5 hearts since level 13 and a soothe bell since 18 and its just turned 22. ;_; It's never going to love me enough

You need a certain level of friendship with it. Which usually means not letting it faint, keeping it first in your party, etc. But it's not working for me.
