Mato's art in Red is really good, with touch of realistic shading in serious, gorey scene like Safari zone, Giovanni battle. However it became more simplify and chibified and finally hit rock bottom in first GSC volume, though I heard its due to her being sick. It go back to good a bit in GSC vol2 though, probably treat like her swan song. The new artist drew weirdly in his crystal arc, but he really shined in R/S chapter. In BW manga the shadow triad wore different design of masks that bore identical outline to the each elemental monkeys. They also strike the pose identical to each striaton's in manga. They also use different pokemon from the game. One use Liligant(grass), one use Basculin(water) and one use Larvesta(fire).
