Reason ORAS had no emerald is because otherwise both the games would have same story line and legend. Crystal did nothing to touch the main story it just added side elements to it. That's not the case with Platinum and Emerald

Of course, if they can do Platinum level of difficulty then there's nothing to complain about

That's not really true though. There's no reason why they couldn't have kept the exclusive evil teams and legendaries in each game but still included the other Emerald content, like the Mirage Tower, the Battle Frontier or the extra areas of the Safari Zone.

People weren't asking for the main Rayquaza storyline from Emerald, they just wanted the added bells and whistles. Similarly, DP remakes obviously wont have the Distortion World and whatnot, but that's no excuse for them not having, say, the fixed Pokedex and gym/E4 lineups of Platinum..

Mix in all the good shit from Platinum including trainer teams, battle frontier, move tutors, and add in some more stuff from the national dex. Megas of a bunch of Sinnoh pokemon, and do something similar to Sun and Moon with HMs.

Have aspects of Platinum in it like how HGSS had Crystal stuff, and unlike how ORAS didn't have Emerald's stuff.

With the plot of dimensions in SM, I could easily see them doing this. Draw parallels between the Distortion World and Ultra Space. Explain why Palkia didn't come investigate Alola when space was torn a new asshole.

I am >>30131409. Just thought to add that I thought part of the game's charm was the pleasantly calm atmosphere. For others of a different personality type, they might not like this or even see it as a personality at all. But after the rather bombastic Gen III and before the more intense Gen V, there's a little quiet stop in Sinnoh. I'm being melodramatic because Gen IV is likely my favorite (for reference, I really enjoy all generations, save maybe VI),but I really to enjoy the calm and laid back attitude that I get from DPPT.

Impossible. Sinnoh is inherently a garbage tier region with forgettable towns, routes/caves that are a pain in the ass to navigate and aesthetics that are just generally a fucking a eyesore. Its dex was also complete shit.

Platinum never outright fixed Diamond and Pearl, it only applied a band-aid to the problem. You can't fix a gen that's just intrinsically bad and I certainly don't want any remakes of this shit.
