The top row is my actual team, just past the first UB01 encounter. The bottom row is what I expected to take to the endgame. Also, Lusamine makes the most unsettling faces, holy shit. I'm also going to catch an Araquanid shortly. Might end up using it but I don't know who I'd swap out.

I didn't want to use in my mind at least best starter right off the bat with the pirated version (I'm a Yuropfag so I still don't get my legit copies of the games til tomorrow) and I didn't want to use most of my planned team but I ended up using Lurantis in the name of our saviour and I couldn't resist using Mimikyu on my team.
Vikavolt and Wishiwashi I'm using on my second playthrough and Incineroar and Bewear I plan to use on my next playthrough.

Dropped vikavolt because of muh speed, salazzle bewear and mimikyu because of the catch rate. Crabominable and mudsdale were unexpected bros, I don't get the hate for yeti crab

I mainly used slowpoke/bro in solgaleo's place up till the E4, but I didn't know how hard it would be. So I played it safe and took Solgaleo. I'm pretty happy with the fact that I never lost a battle throughout the game, but the totem Salazzle put me through the ringer before I took it down.

I sure hope you don't have a level 36+ starter by that point in the game, or some of those other fully-evolved forms.

I wanted to use Ninetales, Marowak, and Crabrawler, but my friend won't get his ass online to trade me a Vulpix, Marowak gets screwed out of its signature move, and doesn't learn shit for ghost or fire-type moves outside of that until endgame, and Crabrawler doesn't evolve until endgame either.

Found Wimpod first then found Dewpider when back-tracking. Was so sure I wanted Golisopod but that bubble-headed little freak won me over and I didn't want two bug/water mons.

Marmeanie became an absolute bro on this team and loved that I went for it.
Mimikyu and Toxapex alone carried me the entire game.
