Okay idiot. XY were basically a short proof of concept for what a 3D Pokemon game could be. As such they wildly missed the mark and were very poor "games". ORAS was mildly better but still suffered XY's growing pains due to having a broken engine and managing to cut content from an already threadbare game. Hence "tech demo".
