Yeah, for a lot of things they fixed, they made some uneeded unrelated sacrifices, too.

Pros; Like breeding, you can continuously do it without having to even visit a PC directly. Pokeball menu with the Y button, HM removal, and when you ARE in the FP, you don't have to connect more than once for trades so as long as you stay there, you can keep checking in on trades without multiple reconnects. Less water encounters, avoidable encounter routes. Baby steps with trainer styles and cutscenes. But even then, there's less customizable options and your character STILL has that stupid fucking face outside of the special cutscenes, so WHY focus on the players' face SO many times?

But they really fucked up the Mutliplayer bad, which is the worst thing they could do for a Poke game. In past games, with the PSS you could challenge anyone to anything at anytime with a simple tap. Now you have to go down a couple menues to a list with vague little info on a person and invite them to something and it's just lame.

Also no personal messages on ANYTHING. Can't specify shit on GTS and even what you can specify resets each time you make a trade so you can't just keep the same message when trading off eggs or w/e. Wonder trades seem to take a little LONGER than they used to as well.

It's ease of accessibility, inherent to all humans, we're all lazy to an extent, if you don't leave the online functionality then people won't use it, the relogging effect every time between single player and multi player will kill online play.
