According to the Skull Grunt in the Gamefreak building, shiny pokemon have a 1/4000 chance this time around. Does that mean with Masuda method (if that exists in this gen) that the chance will be 1/2000? If so does that mean shiny pokemon are no longer that rare?

Got a shiny Cutiefly after almost 700 chains WITH a Shiny Charm.
Took me 3 whole days.

I guess something in my method was wrong, or I'm just extremely unlucky.
I used 4 Parasect (Spore + Flase Swipe + 2 moves) that I switched whenever one of them ended up with 0 moves left, so you probably break the chain while switching your pkmn.

Not a shiny obtained via a chain but I'm so happy to finally find it. It appeared after more or less 40 hours of reset so around 800 encounters. It's male as I wanted and lonely nature, so very good, since it was random.

That was the most painful 3 hours of my life, wasted around 60 Super Potions, 2 Hyper Potions, and about 10 or so Oran Berries plus countless Antidotes. I just don't know who thought giving dragonbreath to this thing was a good idea.
Thank god Wishiwashi has Aqua Ring super early even though it has shit base HP, Fairies are never an option because both Morellul and Cutiefly will get oneshot by Ember

This is wrong. I've been playing since 1998 with Blue version and I've only ever encountered one (1) shiny on a normal playthrough, a puke green Zubat in Soul Silver. I have just beat Moon without encountering a single shiny.

I started the fight with Sylveon, and i noticed a high amount of females, ONLY when he was out,ONLY on the first Salandit's summons. I would assume you only have until the first pokemon on entries PP amount to have the highest odds of finding a female Salandit, but the shiny odds only go much higher a little after it's PP would run out.
