What should I catch Alolan Sandshrew in? I've already used a regular pokeball, premier ball, ultra ball, dusk ball, and luxury ball on the rest of my team.

I got a lure ball dhelmise and a heavy ball wimpod. The fast ball is reserved for tapu koko. Once I get access to beast balls, salandit and dewpider at the very least are going in those. So, I went and looked, and if it's true that males can pass down balls now, it's possible to breed all the Capricorn balls to every egg group in S/M.

With just pokemon available in S/M, water 1 connects with 9 different egg groups, Fairy connects with Mineral, Grass (and Water 1) and Field connects with Human-Like (and Fairy and Water 1)

Between those 3 egg groups you can get to all the others directly.

You could always save 5~ UBBalls, save your game, weaken Beldum, try the balls and once you run out then reset

You will eventually catch it without spending more than 5 'balls
Also you can get more if you run out as long as the UB are still roaming around, if you have 0 beast balls on your bag then Looker (was it?) will give you 1, this also works if you attach it to a pokemon since it only checks the ones on your bag, it'll take a lot of time though.

What if I catch a pokemon in a Field egg group (biggest egg group) with a Moon Ball for example, can I chain it down to the rest of the pokemon in the egg group? And then chain it to other egg groups?

I catch everything in Pokeballs. Shitmons. Goodmons. Legendaries. Everyone gets a Pokeball.
