The plant possessing Rowlet is just a bow tie and not strong enough to make an impact on typing. On Dartrix, we see that the bow tie is larger and that the plant's green has extended to his face, wings, and tail but it's still mostly owl. On Decidueye though, the plant has grown enough to essentially share Decidueye's body--almost covering its entire face and even growing down its entire back. With the spirit of Decidueye and the plant now sharing the body 50/50, Decidueye becomes a grass/ghost

Also, both Decidueye and Dhelmise learn moves that prevent their targets from escaping. Perhaps this is due to both Pokemon being inhabited by a related species of plant
