First Salandit I encountered was female and I caught it.

I had a similar situation with Popplio though. I got a female right off the bat, but it had a shitty nature and I wanted to reset. That took hours.

Even with an adrenaline orb it took about 15 calls for help before I found a female one.

Mareanie was even worse. The Corsola that I fished up called for help 30 or so times before one showed up. And it was male. At least I got it for completion sake.

You find them, you give them their favorite food, and hope to RNG that they approach you after battle. Robonyan in YW1 is especially obnoxious because he can only be found via using the radar (A rank required to detect him), is hard/rare to spawn, and low befriending rate, even with the highest quality food.

It was oddly quick to both obtain eggs and hatch them.
