Will Snow Warning activate right away when a summoned Vulpix has one or do I need a way to check their ability? I've been in a summon chain of like 30 Vulpix so far but I can't tell if none of them have the hidden ability or it doesn't activate for helper mons

Fathers cannot pass down Hidden Abilities unless bred with Ditto.
Stick that Snow Warning Male with a Ditto until you get a Snow Warning Female hatched.
